Congratulations to our very own Becca Myers on being named a 2019 Odessa Under 40 Honoree! We are proud to serve alongside you in the Junior League of Odessa! Becca Myers is currently the Data Manager for Educate Midland, a non-profit entity and a community initiative based in Midland, TX with a mission to empower and align our whole community by connecting people, ideas, and resources to help all students achieve their highest educational potential. Becca’s responsibilities include research, program evaluation, development and strategic planning, creation of content for media campaigns, identification of local education partners and resources among other responsibilities. Becca is West Texas proud, having grown up in Sweetwater, TX. After graduating from Texas Tech University, Becca moved to Odessa in 2012 to pursue a master’s degree in Applied Research Psychology at UTPB - The University of Texas of the Permian Basin. She began her professional career working at one end of the educational spectrum, advising and supporting students enrolling into graduate school at UT Permian Basin. From there she transitioned into the role of Research Coordinator for The Center for Early Childhood Development, which highlighted for her the importance of early learning and development as a marker of one’s educational journey. Becca has developed a passion for helping her community and is involved in numerous volunteer opportunities. Some of Becca’s current volunteerism includes working with Junior League of Odessa (since 2016) and is a current member of the Kids in the Kitchen initiative with the West Texas Food Bank. Becca is also involved with the Community Research and Development Committees with Junior League of Odessa as well. Becca is a past graduate of Leadership Odessa in May 2018 and has recently completed the Nonprofit Executive Leadership Certification course with The Nonprofit Management Center in May 2019. She has an interest in overall physical wellness and anything that incorporates outdoor activities. Experiencing the cultures of others through travel is something she endlessly pursues. @beccamyers #juniorleagueofodessa
We are so proud of our Junior League of Odessa President! Help us congratulate Britni Coots Veretto on being named a 2019 Odessa Under 40 Honoree! ❤️ Britni serves as the Director of Finance and Administration for the ABLE Center for Independent Living, where she oversees the consumer service staff, board reporting, and financial operations and facilitates Federal and State grants. She also teaches financial literacy, budgeting, and basic computer skills courses to people with disabilities, to promote independent living for the consumers at ABLE. Britni is part of the Permian High School MOJO class of 2005. While in High School, she served as a junior volunteer at Medical Center Hospital. After graduation, she received her certificate for Certified Benefits and Work Incentives Counselor from Cornell University. Britni was born and raised in Odessa and credits her mom, Connie, for instilling her desire to serve her community. In 2012, Britni joined the Junior League of Odessa, where she has been involved as a committee member for the Community Research and Development Committee, and committee chair for the Odessa Parks Mother Son / Daddy Daughter Dance Committee. In 2015, she was elected as Treasurer and later became Finance VP, before spearheading the League’s new Christmas Carriage Ride Fundraiser, which will enter its third successful year. This month, Britni will start her role as President for the 2019-2020 Junior League Year. Britni also serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for the Texas Ramp Project - Building Freedom for the Homebound, which builds wheelchair ramps onto homes of Texans with disabilities that are financially unable to do so for themselves, alongside her husband, Michael. Britni knows it takes a village to build better a community and would like to thank her husband Michael for all the support over the years. Michael and Britni are proud parents to two beautiful children, Ella (12) and Cooper (9). When Britni is not volunteering in the community she can be found cheering on her kids at the golf course and baseball field, or enjoying time on the lake, their happy place! @britni.v #juniorleagueofodessa
