Posted this on my main page but this is definitely something that deserves to be on here. Four months ago, I started #orangetheoryfitness . Prior to that, I have never been able to run a full mile and running for a minute straight was literally impossible. Last Saturday, I ran over two miles! Two minutes of these 30 minutes were a walking recovery between blocks but I ran 2 x 10.5 minute blocks FULLY (alternating push and base paces). The only way to see what you’re doing wrong is to record yourself. Felt pretty awkward the first few times but now I just don’t give a fuuuuh. I honestly wish I had a personal videographer following me around at the gym so I could always have footage of my form. This was my first time trying straight leg deadlifts like this. I am using my back too much and should probably not lean as far back / go as far down as I am here (which will help with using my back less). Things to fix for next time so I can constantly improve! ☺️
Here comes an influx of swimsuit pics 😅 I have either shin splints or a stress fracture in my right leg which has resulted in me cooling it with the running for a bit (even froze my OTF membership 😩). This has been pretty depressing since I was making so much progress running! Who could have fathomed that I could one day run a mile in 9 mins? Not me... but that’s how far I managed to progress before I had to stop. 💪🏻 Anyways, decided to sub swimming in for running. Currently only swimming once a week and for a max of thirty minutes bc damn it’s hard.. how did I used to do this everyday? The pool yesterday was so frickin hot.... somehow managed to swim a 500 in 9 mins so that’s my starting point as of now. Can’t wait to see some improvement (I’m also fake training for a triathalon rn so 500 will be my goal for now).
One day.. I’ll learn how to hip thrust correctly. “Grow 🍑 Grow” -me at the start, during and end of each leg workout. Spent 1.5 hours today at the gym working on lower body. Forgot my workout headband so was distracted by the copious amount of sweat pouring down my face the entire time 😅 and ALSO forgot my headphones so got to listen to the lovely groans of my neighbors for 1.5 hours instead of some pump up tubes. Even with those two mishaps, managed to get an exxxcellent leg day in!
I have always felt like I do hip thrusts wrong and finally decided to record myself. Now I have proof 😭 - I removed any weight and just tried to thrust the bar. I completely overextend at the top and don’t know how to fix this. That’s the only way I truly feel like I’m feeling anything in my glutes but I know I’m supposed to be completely flat at the top. Any advice?? No wonder the 🍑 hasn’t been growing 😅 EDIT: not the best video since I’m also wearing the baggiest of shirts 🤷🏻♀️
I’m on Day 7 of my first ever round of #whole30 ! I can’t believe it. I, ME, made it seven days without dairy, without sugar and (craziest of all) without bread. I wish I could say it wasn’t rough, especially the work week. I was primarily surviving off date balls and salads. Then thought working out on just that would be a good idea (it was not). Luckily, I have time to cook on the weekends and this was freaking DELISH. I had the chili lime chicken burger covered in homemade guacamole, zucchini, sweet potato and mushrooms. Most important lesson I learned this week: stick to the basics. There is no need to look up extravagant whole30 recipes that will probably taste pretty bad anyway when you can just eat these basics and have an amazing, filling meal. 🥰
Boob sweat... my favorite.... Managed to get in a fun and intense little leg workout on this rainy Friday night. I was surprised how many people were at the gym!
Literally got destroyed during today’s workout 😩 and sad thing is I swear it’s because the last class I did was last Monday and my body immediately returns to an “I don’t workout” state if I go three days without being active, and it sucks. 😅
Anyone do orange? I finished off my first month! So excited because I think I’ve bought 4-5 “month” gym memberships and only completed half the classes before I’ve given up... but NOPE! I did it! Used all 8 of my classes and boy do I enjoy this! I absolutely despise cardio but this makes it so much fun. My goal here is not to lose weight or get fit (since I still lift on the side), my goal is to better my overall health, especially my heart health. No more huffing and puffing after walking up three flights of stairs! I’m posting this one because LOOK AT MY PYRAMID! My first class was a perfect right triangle, I spent 50 of 55 minutes in the red heart zone and after seeing that, knew that I couldn’t not sign up... then my second class was a 2000m row, second time I’ve ever rowed in my life. About 500m in I told myself, “I’m too tired, I have to stop and rest” but I looked around and nobody else was resting! Even though every 100m after that until I made it 2000m, I fought myself mentally to keep going, I did it in 9:08 and I was so freaking proud! Because everyone else was pushing themselves, I didn’t give up 5 minutes into a cardio workout like I usually do... more validation that signing up for otf as a good idea. Can’t wait to see how my overall well-being changes over the next few months!
